FAQ: Why do you not have a lot of Gucci™, Prada™, Chanel™, and other Designer Handbags Listed? Simple answer.....
A lot of our customers and would-be customers ask us why we do not have more Gucci™, Prada™, Chanel™ handbags listed on our site.
The answer is very simple:
BECAUSE MOST OF YOU STILL BELIEVE THAT A $200 GUCCI™, CHANEL™, OR PRADA™ HANDBAG EXISTS!!!!
We can purchase authentic designer handbags all day long, we are good at that, that is our expertise - with the exception of certain brands that are simply not available (i.e., Louis Vuitton™, Hermes™).
However, these are "luxury" items for a reason - they are restricted and very hard to purchase, and in very limited supply, even if you are are authorized department store or boutique.
That is why they are expensive and that is why people want them.
So, when we buy them, we have to pay a lot of money for them. And we generally cannot get the "hottest" bags, as those are successfully sold through stores at full retail price, and sometimes more.
Here is the math, for the umpteenth time:
Cost of a Prada KPB135 MicroFiber, Leather Trim Shopping Handbag in Italy = 504 Euros
Our Cost = 252.00 Euros
(This is without any middlemen and does not take into account travel expense to Italy and everything else........)
Less 20% TVA (European Value Added Tax) = 210 Euros
Multiplied By Euro / US$ Exchange Rate (1 Euro = $1.40) = US$294
US customs Duties (19% on Synthetic material, i.e., the black nylon used on Prada shopping handbag and 9% on leather) = US$343.98
Shipping, handling costs (Ave. $15 per bag) = US$358.98, assuming shipped in large shipment, so could be a lot higher)
So, there you have it, our actual fixed cost on a Prada microfiber shopping bag landed in our warehouse in the US - $358.98.
If we mark it up by 20%, not unreasonable, the cost to you is $430.77.
The retail price of this bag in the US is between $725 and $795.
And you tell us that are bags are too expensive!!!!!
The irony is that most of the Gucci and Prada handbags that we have on our website are actually listed below our cost - go and find the one listed above and you can see for yourself - yet they sit there unsold.
In summary, we do not have a lot of premium handbags listed on our website because too many people out there still believe in the $200 Gucci handbag.
Once people accept that luxury handbags cost luxury prices, and they start selling for small discounts to retail (10 - 20%, which is what they should be selling online for) on the Internet, we cannot afford to list a lot of premium handbags. We are able to do closeouts on other branded handbags and we offer these (such as Roberto Cavalli), which offer excellent value.

These are obviously fake handbags - but note that they still come with all the authenticity back up that the authentic ones do. No doubt they are made to the same standards, maybe even better than the original, such that without a sophisticated Materials Analysis laboratory you cannot tell the difference.
When buying authentic designer goods from a non-authorized source, which is completely legal in the United States, the most important thing is to know your source and to be able to verify that you purchased from this source.
A certificate of authenticity proves absolutely nothing. A so-called "sanitized invoice" proves absolutely nothing (they are available on the Internet for $20).
